Over the past year, I have had to change my diet intensity. For years I have had extreme stomach pain after eating foods, and then one day decided to take a food sensitivity test. When the results came back, I discovered I was gluten and dairy-free. So after cutting out gluten and dairy from my diet, I felt much better and healthier. Throughout this change, I discovered I couldn’t eat many of my favorite snacks like Cheeze-Its, peanut M&M’s, cookies, and more! But I found healthier alternatives at the grocery store that taste just the same, even better than the original brand.
Peanut M&M’s –> UNREAL Dark Chocolate Peanut Gem
Peanut M&M’s were my go-to movie snack, and I was devastated when I found out I should not eat them anymore until I found the UNREAL brand. These are vegan and gluten-free certified and taste as yummy as the M&M brand. The best part about them is that no artificial coloring is included in them. I have found them at stores like Target, Meijer, Fresh Thyme, Walmart, and Whole Foods. They can even be purchased in bulk on Amazon! The best part about this brand is that they have more of your favorite candy made into a healthier version for you to try out!

Microwave Butter Popcorn –> Microwave Skinny Pop
Going on theme with the movie night, I also love microwave-warm popcorn. I always liked the skinny pop brand but never knew they had a microwave version till a few months ago, and it changed my life. I could have my warm buttery popcorn again! This brand is dairy-free, non-GMO, gluten-free, peanut-free, tree nut-free, preservative-free, and has no artificial flavors while still tasting just as good as the popcorn from the movie theater. I have found these at all local grocery stores. This is a super low-calorie snack that you need!

Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough –> Sweet Loren’s Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough
Everyone knows and loves a nice warm baked cookie, where the chocolate melts in your mouth. As a college student, I do not have the time, money, or energy to bake cookies from scratch. That is why buying pre-made cookie dough was so easy. All you had to do was preheat the oven, and ten minutes later, warm chocolate chip cookies were popping out of the oven. Now I can still do that with the wonderful Sweet Loren’s brand. Not only are these cookies plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, and peanut/tree nut free. But also women owned by Loren herself. She has an amazing story about starting the brand, saying after she beat cancer in her early twenties, she found out that eating clean and healthy made her feel better physically and mentally. After discovering no cookies at the grocery store had clean, simple ingredients, she decided to make her own. Talk about a girl boss! All these cookies can be found at your local grocery stores, next to all the other unhealthy cookie dough brands.

Rice Krispy Treats –> Made Good Vanilla Crispy Squares
Rice Krispy Treats were my favorite childhood snack, especially the homemade kind. Once I found out marshmallows were not vegetarian, I never ate them again but still craved them all the time. I have made them a few times with vegan marshmallows, but it always leaves the pots and pans all sticky and hard to clean up. Once I found the Made Good Vanilla Crispy Squares, my cravings were satisfied. They taste better than the rice crispy brand and are much healthier for you. Not only are these vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and allergen-free, but they contain nutrients from vegetables in the recipe, which you don’t even taste. These are perfect for getting more vegetables into your daily diet.
