Over the Summer, my apartment complex had their pool open. On my days off of work, I would go down, sit by the pool, and start reading a book. This officially turned me into a book girl and made me spend my whole Summer reading. I now try and read at least one chapter a day before bed, and I am eager to get a Kindle from Santa this year, hopefully. Below are five books I have read and gave 5/5 star reviews!
Verity by Colleen Hoover
It took me three days to finish this book. When you pick it up, it is hard to stop reading. Each chapter gets better and better. This book has so much drama, romance, and mystery, and it quickly became my favorite book ever. A little about this book: a famous writer, Verity, recently had an accident and could not complete the series she was working on. Her husband reached out to a publishing firm to have someone come read all of her old notes from her office and finish the final three books of the series. When she goes out to research, she finds something she should not have, Verity’s novel, but by curiosity, she begins reading, and what she finds is unreal. You need to read this book. I am still shocked by the ending. There are so many twists and turns!

I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
Growing up, I loved watching shows like iCarly and Sam & Cat with the character Sam Puckett, played by the wonderful Jennette McCurdy. Years later, in 2022, Jennette came clean about her childhood actor experience and relationship with her mother. This book was eye-opening to her experiences and something I would have never guessed would happen to someone like her. This book goes through her very start as an actor and her experience with companies like Nickelodeon. This is one of the first books that got me back into reading, and I would recommend this to anyone who watched Jennette growing up!

Live in Love: Growing Together Through Life Changes by Lauren Akins
One thing about me is that I love Thomas Rhett. When I heard his wife came out with a book, I knew I had to get it instantly. This book is all about Lauren’s love story with Thomas. This is no love story about a girl chasing a man with money. They met in middle school. It goes through everything they went through, from breakups to long distances to the start of Thomas’s career to starting their family. One thing I loved about this book is seeing all the connections between their life and the songs Thomas wrote, giving them a better understanding. To read this book, you don’t have to be a Thomas Rhett fan. It is a cute love story that Lauren shared with the world.

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover (#1)
When starting my book journey, I knew I had to start with one of the most popular books of the Summer. This book was so shocking to read and was a page-turner. It is a story about a girl named Lily who recently began her new life in a new city and is starting a flower shop business. She then meets a man named Ryle, and the story details their passionate relationship with each other. This was a perfect poolside read with the perfect romance and suspense. Everyone has read it, but this should be on your list if you have not.

It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover (#2)
When I finished the first book of this series, I went to Target that day and bought the second book. This book goes into detail about Lily and Atlas’s relationship, an old friend from when she was a teenager. I liked this book even more than the first one and wished there were more books in this series. Colleen Hoover has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and it shows in her books like this one.

These books I flew by when reading them. I wish I could experience reading them for the first time again. I encourage you to read these books and tell me what you think! I also am open to any book suggestions you might have as well.
