Hey y’all, if you remember my My 2024 Goals and How I Am Going to Achieve Them post then you remember saying I wanted to do quarterly check-ins on my goals to ensure I am achieving my goals for 2024. Below I have a more detailed check-in with each goal to ensure I am making the most of my 2024!
A quick recap of my 2024 goals for the year are:
- Read 24 books
- Spend more days getting ready
- Grow my blog
- Stick to my gluten-free, dairy-free lifestyle
- Get a consistent gym schedule
Adopt a cat- Think before I spend
- Travel outside the country
- Get financially smart
Read 24 Books
So far I have read 5 books for the year making me 20% on my way to my goal of 24. This is good, but I want to prioritize reading more in my nighttime routine instead of scrolling on Instagram before bed. My Kindle has helped a lot to achieve my reading goal, and I am always open to new authors or book recommendations!
Spend more days getting ready
I am doing a great job of taking some extra time in the morning to get ready by doing my hair, putting on makeup, or following my usual morning routine.
Grow my blog
In the process of expanding my blog, I’ve placed it on the back burner, neglecting to give it the attention and focus it truly deserves. Recognizing this, I am determined to prioritize and invest more time and effort into its growth over the upcoming months.
Stick to my gluten-free, dairy-free lifestyle
Maintaining my commitment to a gluten-free and dairy-free lifestyle generally proves to be easy, but challenging when dining out. I want to increase my comfort level in communicating with restaurant staff about my dietary preferences and making necessary modifications that align with my specific dietary needs.
Get a consistent gym schedule
I’ve been thriving with my gym routine, all thanks to the Alive app created by the wonderful Whitney Simmons. Recently, I accomplished her comprehensive 6-week legs program, which not only kept me disciplined but also played a pivotal role in ensuring I stuck to my workout schedule.
Adopt a cat
Adopting a cat was initially on my agenda; however, upon careful consideration, I’ve crossed it out for the time being. As much as I would adore having a kitty, I’ve recognized that the current year isn’t the most opportune for me to become a cat owner. Given my upcoming plans, including a series of moves this summer and post-graduation, I’ve decided to postpone the idea of adopting a cat and, include it as one of my goals for 2025.
Think before I spend
I am pleased to announce that I’ve successfully embraced the habit of thoughtful spending, and I take pride in the fact that my credit card statement for February reflects a significant decrease compared to previous months. This positive shift in my financial behavior demonstrates my commitment to making mindful choices and maintaining a lower credit card bill.
Travel outside the country
I am thrilled to share my excitement about the upcoming international vacation I’ve just booked. Although the trip is scheduled for December, the anticipation is already building. I’ll be heading to Cabo with my boyfriend’s family, and the prospect of exploring a new destination with them has me feeling incredibly enthusiastic!
Get financially smart
Over the past two months, I’ve made an effort to prioritize and enhance my financial intelligence. I am proud to report significant progress in expanding my financial knowledge. Currently, my focus is on honing the skill of monthly budgeting, a crucial aspect of managing finances effectively.
I hope my commitment to prioritizing and achieving my goals encourages you to reflect on your own. Even if you haven’t established goals for the year, now is a perfect opportunity to create some. Remember, it doesn’t have to be January for goal-setting! I look forward to checking in with you in June, the halfway mark of the year, to share updates on my progress and hear about yours.
