The 75 hard/soft have been a massive trend for the past year or so. I thought that before I committed to the whole 75 days, I would give myself a little trial run, and I am glad I did because now I know I do not want to do the whole 75 days.
For those who do not know what the 75 soft is, here are the rules:
- Eat well and only drink on social occasions
- 45-minute workout every day with one active recovery day
- Drink three liters of water a day
- Read ten pages of any book a day
And that’s it! You just need to follow those four guidelines for 75 days straight, and if you mess up, you have to start over on day 1. It seems pretty easy, but it becomes more challenging once you start doing it.
My 75 soft experience
Eating well and not drinking was easy since it was only one week, and I just meal-prepped beforehand. The 45-minute workouts were not complex. I only struggled with finding what types of workouts to do each day. I also would be sore the next day from the night before and then suffer through a workout while being sore.
I love to read, so reading ten pages daily was a breeze. My new favorite thing is walking on the treadmill and reading my Kindle. Let me tell you, the hardest part of this whole thing was drinking enough water. I had to go to the bathroom every ten minutes. The only thing I did not accomplish was hitting my water goal. I only did 3/7 days.
I am glad I tried this challenge for one week, but now I am glad I did not commit to 75 days. I do not have the time scheduled as a college student working two jobs to do these each day.
